The first day of July will bring a purchasing manager’s view in June of the manufacturing sectors in the United Kingdom and the United States. The U.K. manufacturing PMI report is due for release during the European session, while the New York session will feature ISM’s latest manufacturing index. Recent UK PMI figures have not seemed to rattle the GBP/USD, but a crash of the index below the key 50 level could spark some selling pressure on the pound. With the exception of last month’s ISM release, the market has responded to even modest deviations from the forecast of the headline number from that report so far this year.
